I got this off the Google Translate and it's not bad at all. I like it, sounds poetry to me

Yeah, but you're not supposed to translate names. I don't know if that sig is a name, or if it's some kind of message like what you said. And I don't know the kana or kanji at all to puzzle it out myself.
If there are no better ideas I'll use one of those or make something up at the end of the month.

You could add a 'Foreign Characters' section, put them there.
It's the author, not the character I'm concerned about.
When I was still working on the Character Index, I put other foreign characters in with the regular characters -- but put their descriptions in the original languages. That will be a lot harder if I ever get this into those pages...
I meant 'character' in the 'A', 'B', 'F' sense, not in the 'Jim', 'Sally', and 'Short Round' sense.

Aren't Tsukiko and the rodent separate characters? It's not very clear. I assumed that "rodent" was a reference to the ferret.
Yep, google translate is bad with Japanese, doesn't help that it's literary writing.
"Rei-daime no Reiji" is the correct romanization for the author name. It appears to be a legit nick/handle, not some kind of message.
Meaning:
"Rei" = zero.
"-daime" = nth-generation, in the context of running a business or being of the same profession in the family. e.g. 3rd-generation chef.
"Reiji" = given name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reiji
So, "Reiji, of the zeroth-generation"
For the author listings in the index, yeah, as Nair suggests, maybe a separate page for foreign (i.e. not latin alphabet) usernames would be best. But ordering is an issue: for Japanese at least, unicode lexicographical order doesn't lead to an intuitive ordering akin to A~Z. Gojuuon order is the usual for Japanese if keeping names in the original language; A~Z order of romanized form could also work. Either way, for each new author that crops up, Adama's got to ask someone, and to complicate matters, pronunciation is sometimes ambiguous with written names.
As for rodent... maybe google bungled 「月子」 and took it as the earthly branch 「子」 for the zodiac rat. Doesn't account for 「月」 "moon", and kind of far fetched, but then again I've seen google do sillier things with translations, so who knows.
