She had been moved. Why and by whom? she wondered. And why hadn't she awoken during the move? Had they put a sedative in her food or water?
She looked around. The room was far larger than any of the rooms in her old abode. The marble floor was cold to her bare skin, so she quickly clambered to her feet from the lying position in which she had awakened. A diffuse light came from somewhere, which allowed her to see white-painted walls with no sign of doors or windows. The nearest wall looked a long way away - perhaps ten feet. This was a full-size room, and a large one at that. Looking up, she saw that the ceiling was high above her.
