Seeing a passerby, Sharon shouted and waved, but at her small size it was not surprising that she was neither seen nor heard. The man got into his car and drove off. Sharon was afraid for a moment that she might be run down without being seen. In the event, the car missed her by ten feet or so, but she realised that for someone of her size the parking lot wasn't a very safe place to be.
