Jim loves Sharon largely because she's what he's always dreamt of being, a tall, dark-haired intellectual woman, attractive and near enough beautiful. So it's no surprise that he chooses to Implant her form under his own, to make his true physical body identical to hers. Well, frankly, he doubts that all this will work anyway. He puts back the Lisa skin and head-mask and gets the Sharon versions, which he puts on the rack of the Implanter. He takes a deep breath, hits the red button, and leaps into the Implanter's other booth. About two seconds after he takes his place on the silvery disc, there is a mild buzzing noise and a strange feeling of disorientation -- then the sounds of some sort of equipment shutting down, about five seconds later. A sweet little chime rings and a green light in the booth goes on. He leaves the booth and the green light goes off. He looks at the Sharon head and skin -- they seem unchanged.
