Down the darkest path. Their progress was quite slow due the fact that they had no shoes and the path was narrow and crowded with stones and gnarled roots. The black leafless trees grew thickly over their heads and the air was thick and quiet.
"Jim let's go back this place is too spooky," Sharon said, a quiver in her voice
"Yes I think you're right." Jim said in a whisper, but as they turned to go back the trail seemed to have closed in behind them, the trees and thorny brambles grew thicker and thicker until they were impassable.
"I guess we've got no choice." Sharon said and they continued deeper into the woods. Sharons' thin lacey underwear was caught over and over on the thorns until it was shredded, and she finally let it drop and walked naked, bringing a few prolongued glances from Smokes. Jim would normaly feel some sort of jelousy, or to protect her from the beast of a man, but he did not seem like he belonged with them at all. Somehow, it made sense, but he was not sure why. They were each getting badly scraped, when the path seemed to widen a bit and the sun began to penetrate the canopy showing the way ahead in a pleasant dappled light. The path widened even more and they came to some clearings where they saw what looked like ruined stonework. So ancient it was hard to tell at first that it was deliberatly fashioned, but there were definetly the remains of some white marble columns in the style of the ancient greeks. These artifacts became more frequent as they continued and they also say what looked like the remains of huge statues and the broken domes of ancient structures covered with vines. The ground sloped steeply downward and Jim realized that they were desceding an immense staircase. They ground leveled at last and they stepped through a huge vine covered archway and could see clearly where they were.
They were at the bottom of a small green valley. The sun had gone down but there was still enough light to see standing in front of them was a fantastic structure. It looked Something like the Parthenon but on a titanic scale, the white stone columns must have been three hundred feet high and sixty feet wide. It was full of bizarre statuary, crumbling and incomprehensivly old. The temprature was falling quickly. Jim noticed Sharons' nipples were hard and she was shivering slightly.
"It is getting dark," Smokes said before Jim could speak, "We should find a camp sight soon.
Walking over to Sharon, the future man spoke a few words that Jim could not make out. His jacket was suddenly over her arms, forcing a smile from her. Now THAT was not right. Jim knew that. He was supposed to have Sharon not Smokes. Something welled up within Jim. Anger.
