Everyone finally agreed that having the "old" Jim and Sharon back would be a good
idea. Sharon had to admit that she couldn't top her previous performance. Someone
in the crowd suggested she might get lynched if she tried. She and Jim went
back to the bedrooms and changed. He shivered as he pulled the suit off. It
wasn't sweaty, but after you had these things on a while they sort of seemed to
stick to you like a second skin or something.
The rest of the party was mostly normal- except that when anyone mentioned any
sort of double entendre or anything that could refer to skunks, people started
giggling and snickering. Sharon enjoyed her presents, and thanked people graciously.
Towards the end of the party, she started getting embarrassed when she thought about
what she'd done, and she did apologize to anyone who might've had their feelings
hurt. Everyone assured her they understood and sympathized- and besides, thought
it had been a great joke.
Jim was the last to leave. Sharon gave him a special hug, and a kiss that was a
LOT more proper than any he'd gotten from her earlier in the evening. She clung
to him for a couple of seconds before saying, "thanks, Jim. It was a really great
evening, even if it did have it's rocky moments."
Jim was too embarrassed to mutter more than a you're welcome of sorts. Sharon
giggled. "Poor Jim. I treated you badly, didn't I. Still, maybe we could try it
again- and this time, with no witnesses?"
Jim looked at her to be sure she knew what she was saying. She did. "Well...
