Richelle sighed as she stretched and felt her full stomach. "Why not go for it again. I think I'm relaxed enough, if I don't go to sleep!"
Upuaut grinned. "Ok. Put your mask back on and let things go again..."
Richelle did, but at first wondered what was wrong. "I'm letting everything go like before and even more so, but the pull isn't nearly as strong!"
"Yes, I know. That other room was made to enhance the pull. It was also made to twist it. Now that you know the pull, see if you can't complete the process without the twisting effect hindering you."
Richelle's mind wandered through uncharted territory for a few minutes, and finally her eyes opened. "I think I've got it..." she breathed. "Things look shiny... it's almost like I can see connections, a whole new world..."
She felt a light touch in the back of her mind where things seemed to be active. "Yes, you've got it. Now, look at this cup of water.... " Upuaut shook it lightly so that it rippled. "Look closely and see how it moves... now look at it, but beyond the movement and see what remains the same..."
Richelle's new state prevented her from getting too impatient, which was just as well. She spent half an hour staring at that moving water before she spotted what Upuaut was pointing out. "ahhhhhh" she breathed. She felt that light pressure again, and Upuaut's smile this time was the wide open-mouthed smile of a delighted dog. Richelle's mind anchored on what she saw and her perceptions moved as she instinctively grasped for the moving water as well... soon, she felt and saw both, and as the new understanding opened in her mind she tried to twist....
Upuaut's hand flinched slightly as the glass shattered and water flowed everywhere. "Classic case of a mis-aimed charm," he sighed. "You got the identity of the glass insted of the water."
Richelle groaned. "I thought I was getting good! I'm sorry."
Upuaut laughed. "Don't be! If you'd done this at the end of the third day, I would've been satisfied. You've covered more ground in 2 or 3 hours than I'd dared hope might be done all day. Come on, let's go and let things rest for a while."
She followed, feeling a bit better, as Upuaut led her...
