Caitlin walked towards the cafeteria for breakfast, her mind still racing with thoughts about her dreams last night. Strange dreams, but GOOD ones, in the strangest ways.
"Caitlin, right?" a male voice said.
She cleaned up her thoughts and looked up. There was the boy from yesterday.
She smiled at him, nervously.
"Randy, is it?" she asked.
He nodded. "Yeah. How--"
She cut him off. "How are you?"
He smiled at her. "Good, how are you?"
Caitlin gulped, and nodded. "Like you." she choked out.
"Hmm?"
"I... I like you," she felt herself blush looking directly at Randy. "I mean, I'm good. I'm... Good."
Randy just smiled at her.
"Breakfast?" He asked.
"Yeah," glad the subject had changed, she said, "Heading to the cafeteria."
"Me too," Randy said.
Caitlin looked up ahead at the cafeteria building and bit her lip. "Want to eat with me?"
"Sure, we can talk a little."
They started to walk towards the cafeteria, both feeling pretty good.
A few minutes later, they sat down across from each other at a table, each with a tray full of waffles.
Randy watched Caitlin take a sip of her coffee, and he broke the strange ice.
"Caitlin," he began, and her eyes met his, "I've got a really strange question to ask..."
