Felix checked his scheduling paper real quickly. It was a weird sensation to be in high school again, he could remember all of these classes, but all the grades were running together and he was constantly checking his cheat sheet to see what classroom was next. C-150 was next so he slammed his locker shut and headed over.
Walking down the hallway though was a completely new experience though. He had always felt like a phantom in these hallways the first time he was 16, dodging and weaving through the crowds to get to the classes he was late for. But now, people seemed to clear out of the way of his fit form, and girls couldn’t stop talking among themselves as they stole glances. He smiled and nodded, as it felt good to be back.
He turned the corner and immediately rubbed his nose, he had completely forgotten how much the science rooms smelt terrible, like burnt rubber and some kind of air freshener were competing to see which smell was more over powering. He passed the lab section of the classroom and sat in the lower lecture area which bland desks were stuffed to the brim, demonstrating the status of a over crowded school.
Quickly sitting himself down at a empty desk, he sighed as he let the sweet nostalgia come in. He hated biology so much, it was boring and he wasn’t very good at it, especially memorizing anything with Latin. One of the happiest days of his life was when he barely passed biology.
However now, he was feeling pretty good. He saw two cute girls look over and give the look he was very familiar with now, the look of ‘we think you’re cute’. He just gave a casual wave back and they did the same with a giggle.
“Well it appears you won’t have to switch classes anymore.”
A slam of books on a desk made him spin from his left to his right, and saw that Dagmara was looking back with a flirty smile. He smiled back, “Oh whatever do you mean?”
She pushed some hair from her face, “Don’t play coy Felix. You were actually considering changing into your mother’s class just for a chance like this.”
He squinted, “I’m sorry do I know you?”
Her eyes widened as she grabbed her book. She smacked his shoulder surprisingly hard, “Oh you are bad!”
“I want to say... Dogma?”
Blushing, she sat up straight to pretend she didn’t care, “Well that’s good, because I don’t remember yours either!”
He rubbed his chin, “That’s funny because I could of sworn you just said something which sounded like Felix...”
A textbook came over to obscure her face, making Felix just chuckle, imagining how beat red she was. He had forgotten how insecure people were in high school sometimes. He decided to be bold and put his hand on her mid-thigh which was unfortunately covered by track-pants. She put the book down and the corner of her mouth curled as she put her hand on his.
She leaned over and whispered in a breathy voice, “You are an interesting, sexy man Felix... Are you trying to seduce me?”
Smirking, he moved his hand subtly up, “I don’t think I am trying Dagmara... I think I am doing...” He couldn’t believe how cool he was now, at this point he would sleep with Felix.
She gave a slight gasp and bit her lower lip, then leaned over, “Hey how about we skip this bore-fest and go to the field...”
He kept her eye contact like he had been taught to do, and moved his hand up slightly more, “I was thinking that we wait until attendance, then sneak off on a bathroom break.”
They both straightened up to give the teacher coming to the front their full attention. However this was already the best biology lesson ever, since Dagmara’s hand was slowly moving around his crotch, while he did the same.
Miss Armijo cleared her throat and smiled, “Good Afternoon everybody. Before we begin our planned class for the day, I just need to make an introduction. I know it is only the beginning of school year, but we already are graced with a new student. If you could just introduce yourself?”
Felix wasn’t really paying attention though, and just leaned over to the gorgeous Russian American beside him, “So do you have a boyfriend or something?”
A gorgeous mane of a black hair suddenly rose though , and was pushed away by well manicured hands to reveal a model-like Latina face. Her smile lit up the room, “Hola! My name is Candy Borrego and I just moved here from El Paso for my father’s work. I am not going to name my likes and dislikes because that’s what facebook is for right? And I hope to get to know you all better and find out that this is a cool school.”
All the male eyes, and some female eyes, were wide-open to drink in the sight of this fit, yoga-pant wearing, cute looking latina named Candy. Felix’s eyes were wide for another reason though, as he felt so stupid. How could he forget the first time he saw his fist, biggest and only high school crush, was today in biology. Sure it was two more years until he had the popularity capital to actually ask her out around prom, when she was vulnerable enough after just breaking up with another guy, but this was a special day nevertheless.
Despite Felix being rather stunned, the hot girl beside him was not, “Boyfriend? Uh no... I mean yes, but- like, its not that serious... Anyways should we leave now?” He could practically feel her heart flutter in excitement.
However, Felix wasn’t sure about anything at the moment. His throat felt dry, he felt itchy, his brain was thinking of all of these hypotheticals and weird questions like did he wear deodorant this morning? All of his confidence and studliness was being thrown out as his memories of fantasizing about her came into his head all those years ago. He took a deep breathe and sighed to think it out. He had a gorgeous girl beside him, liking him, and wanting to at least hit a few bases, if not run to home plate, on the upper-field. Yet, he knew that his perfect high school experience would have to have Candy in it and he might jepordize things if he doesn’t make a good impression right away, which wouldn’t happen if he left with Dagmara at the moment.
He felt a tug on his shirt, “What are we doing Felix?” Dagmara said looking at him longingly.
