Reserve Avenger Quasar used his quantum bands to build a solid-light version of a "boom tube" (based on Billy Young's description). And, he did this in the null-zone between Earth and Mars (the point in space where their gravitaional pulls were mutually neutralized). A relative way off was the personal spacecraft of Moondragon of Titan. And, its passengers included Batman, Black Widow, Warbird, Phantom Stranger, Scarlet Witch, Rick Jones, and Billy himself.
"Let's see if I got this straight," said Jones; "Moondragon links up with this Phantom Stranger and Ms. Scarlet, while that big green-and white spooky guy acts like a tailwind, or whatever. Pushing this cosmic jalopy, I mean." Batman and BW nodded.
"OK, then. Let's get this show on the road!" Whereupon, Jones switched to Capt. Marvel mode, sat down in the pilot's seat, and headed for the boom tube. The inertial dampeners allowed Moondragon and the other three to assume yoga lotus positions without being hampered by G-force acceleration. And, their psionic link-up with the Spectre worked. They went through the tube, and rematerialized in the DC Universe...in geosynchronous orbit above Apokolips.
