Really enjoying this thread. Great job you guys!
Great work!
Man, if Xen'Xia goes with option 2 and Isaac ends up dragged into depression because of it, Laura's gonna be pissed.
Realistically it seems like Xen'xia would go with option 2, but get talked out of it by Laura. The existence of an a powerful god that can casually wipe people out of ever existing is something that a truly good government leader can't simply ignore. Even if Ophelia has no negative intentions, she could make a mistake, or be manipulated by somebody with such intentions. It would probably take the personal request of somebody Xen'xia loves to be able to stomach the risks, and even then it would be on very thin ice.
But what would her trying to do that actually accomplish? Ophelia could just not let it happen, and if Xen'Xia's as smart as she seems, she should realize that she can't really do anything in this situation unless Ophelia allows it. We know that Ophelia respects free will and has sworn an oath, but she doesn't know all that.
Whether or not she is kind enough to allow an issue to be made of it is somewhat irrelevant. It's like having an armed nuke in the middle of your city, that nobody has an detonator for. Just because it's not technically going be activated doesn't mean you don't want it the hell out of there.
Xen'xia knows that if Ophelia is the type to control her into stopping her, then theirs nothing she can do. But if she isn't then she can and must deal with an unacceptable risk.
This was one of my favorite threads, I hope it will continue.
