"Well I have a request, Jasmine," her father said. "If you won't change your mind, then I'm afraid that you must leave the city, at least until after the birth. If news of your condition was to leak out, I'm afraid that the people would never believe your story. You would be thought to be a whore and a slut. And with you being my heir, our family's fitness to rule would be called into question. So you must go, for your own good as much as mine. Only a few palace servants yet know that you have returned, and they can be trusted to keep their months shut so that, after you have given birth, you can return. I would prefer that you find foster mothers for your babies when they are born, and return without them. But if you can't bear to abandon them, then we will have to say that you have adopted them. Hopefully we can make that seem believable. What do you say?"
"You said it was a request, Father, but it's really an order, isn't it?"
"I'm afraid so, my dear. A long overland journey might not be good for you in your condition, so Aladdin can take you on his magic carpet to somewhere at least a couple of hundred miles from here. It has to be far enough away that there's little chance of your encountering someone who could recognise you. We don't want anyone bringing word back here that you're pregnant."
Jasmine bowed her head. "Very well, Father." Inwardly she feared that, if Mirage carried out her threat to make her pregnancy permanent, then she would never get to return to Agrabah.
