"You must go ahead and cast the spell," C-cup Jasmine said. "Otherwise it will generate a paradox, and I could cease to exist." But there's already a paradox, she thought to herself, since my memories of Genie preparing to cast the spell don't include my turning up like I've just done. I just hope that won't matter. Or could this be one of those alternative realities that Sid once told me about?

"But..." Genie protested. "I'll explain in a moment. But first, please go ahead and cast the spell as if I hadn't appeared."

1. So Genie does, and a paradox is avoided.
2. C-cup Jasmine's appearance has already been sufficient to create a paradox that has a disastrous destabilising effect on causality.
3. Genie attempts to cast his spell, but his concentration has been disturbed, with the result that it goes awry. (Or rather, it goes awry in a different way.)
4. Something else.
