On a side note, I promise this is the last episode with any background information, and that the fun adventuring can begin next episode!
But hopefully people share my opinion of Jim being kind of a little 'shit' sometimes with his shenanigans, as light hearted as they try to remain!
I've always thought that Jim and Rick's acts of revenge on Robin were way out of proportion to anything that Robin had ever done to them. Often it's seemed to be that Rick was the ringleader, leading Jim astray. You have it the other way round, but of course there's nothing wrong with that.
I love this storyline so far. I'm kinda shocked in retrospect that nobody tried combining Jim and the gang with Ferris Bueller's Day Off before. The whacky antics seem to naturally go together.
Mmm. Ferris Bueller's pranks were mostly harmless. Jim's sound like they've ruined multiple lives. I find myself barracking for Principal Geiser instead of Jim. That's a significant point of difference.
Thanks for the comments guys!
@Count Sparks: I must say I was surprised myself! It's actually not that imaginative of the idea, but when I thought it up and found no one had did it, well it just was like butter on toast!
@Anon: Just because it's a send up of the movie, doesn't mean I think everything should stay the same.
John Hughes was a known conservative thinker, it shows off in this movie. The sole ubermensch throws off the shackles of oppressive government to do what he thinks is right, and gets away with it all. Even his bitchy sister, all she needed was a man in the end right?
Needless to say, I never got a sound answer of why the Rooney was so positively obsessed with getting this student either, so I've changed the motivation.
If a character of Jim's intelligent actually existed, he probably would play fast and loose with morals as well. Not exactly being evil, but perhaps selfish above all.
Also, if I want Geiser to chase Jim and investigate his 'day-off', I want her to be *really* motivated to do so! I also don't mind you rooting for Geiser either, as although it's Jim's story, I hope he learns a lesson in the end, and I think Geiser will have some fun too. ;)
All I know is that I hope the readers can have some patience as things are set up and pay off, as I have a pretty good idea of where this story will go, mainly because I've watched the movie! :P
I look forward to seeing how the 'Sausage King (Queen?) of Shadow Peaks' plays out.
Very nice
I feel like the Miss Fouquet thing is a reference to another episode.
