Justin thought about his mom. Kylie had it hard lately: husband divorced her, job is barely paying bills, two k1ds to take care of... She deserves better. Justin loved his mother... but how about loving her in a different way. Thinking she could really use a moral boost, Justin zapped himself. He groaned a bit as his muscles grew slightly, he grew slightly taller, and a slight beard formed on his chisled fase. His hard thinned a bit, but now he stood in his room, a new man.
"A perfect husband," Justin said, pulling out a new driver's license and it reading 32 years old, the same age as his mother... er, wife! "This thing does work!"
"What works?" Maria said coming down the hall. "Whatcha doing, dad?" Dad, going to have to get used to that, Justin thought.
"Oh, nothing, Maria," he said. "Where is mo- Ahem, your mother?"
"She's in the kitchen, making food," Maria grunted. "Or at least trying to. Why don't you see if you can help, yeah? I'd like something edible for dinner..."
"Kylie isn't that bad," Justin grunted. He realized he just used his mother's name in a casual fashion.
"She's getting better, but she nearly burned the spaghetti yesterday," Maria said. "You got off work early, I see. You can help put your chef skills to work."
"Chef skills?" Justin wondered.
"Yeah, that's one of the many things you're good at, dad," Maria smiled. "You're the perfect husband and father!" Maria walked up and gave Justin a hug. Thete was a slight yelp from the kitchen. "Now go keep mom from poisoning us."
