Josie and the Pussycats: Rachael's Pussycat Voice

Rachael Leigh Cook--star of the movie "Josie and the Pussycats"--felt her face turn red as she said "Meow" instead of "Hello." She forced as smile as the reporters chuckled. (I've spent too much time with this damn movie, Rachael thought to herself.)

But her embarrassment turned to confusion and then panic when she tried to continue. No matter what words she tried to say, they all came out as meow. Finally she ran from the room, leaving the puzzled movie reps to sort things out with the equally baffled reporters.

Rachael finally ducked into an out of the way restroom. She spashed some water on her face, took a few deep breaths, then looked at her reflection. "Meow," she said. "Meow! MEOW MEOW!" It was no use. She couldn't speak other than as a cat! What was happening to her?

1. *Rachael leaves and runs into Tara Reid and Rosario Dawson. Both are in a panic and meowing frantically.
2. Movie co-stars Tara Reid and Rosario Dawson enter the bathroom. When Rachael meows at them, they smile smugly.
3. *Rachael leaves and passes a room with a TV. The old "Josie and the Pussycats" cartoon is on... and Rachael hears her name spoken.
4. The studio people find Rachael and take her to the hospital. But after days of tests, no one can find a cause or cure for poor Rachael.
5. Archie Comics fired the creator and longtime artist of Josie and the Pussycats, rather than give him credit and possible film profits. (Sadly, this is real life true.) Unknown to Rachael, a comic fan with the Master PC program has targeted her for revenge.
