Darkness had endured many humiliations in her life. She had welcomed most of them. But this? This was an outrage. A faint, glowing panel hovered before her eyes—something like the adventurer cards she was familiar with, yet...wrong. The lettering shimmered in soft pinks and golds, adorned with delicate hearts and flourishes that made her stomach churn.
Class Change Complete: Love Princess
“What?” she muttered, her voice catching in her throat.
Before she could protest, a warmth spread through her body—gentle at first, like sunlight on bare skin. Then it intensified. Her gauntleted fingers trembled. The steel encasing her hands fell away with a clatter, slipping loose as though it no longer fit. Darkness blinked, staring in disbelief as her once calloused, battle-hardened hands softened before her eyes. The roughness faded, skin smoothing into something pale, flawless… fragile.
“No...no, wait—!”
Her grip weakened instantly. When she tried to clench her fist, it felt wrong—like grasping with someone else’s hand. There was no strength behind it. No weight. No power. The warmth surged upward. Her arms, once toned with relentless training, began to slenderize. Muscle melted away as if it had never been there, leaving behind thin, elegant limbs better suited for waving from balconies than wielding a sword. Her shoulders drew in, losing their broadness, her posture shifting involuntarily into something refined and poised.
“Th-this is...unacceptable…” she gasped, though even her voice had softened losing its commanding edge and gaining a delicate, almost musical quality. The transformation didn’t stop. Her chest tightened slightly, her entire frame becoming lighter, smaller daintier. Her waist pulled inward, her center of gravity shifting in a way that made her stumble. She reached for her sword—or tried to.
Her fingers brushed the hilt. She pulled.
Nothing. Not because it was stuck. Because she couldn’t lift it. Darkness froze. A horrifying realization dawned as she strained—actually strained—to even budge the weapon she once swung with ease. Her arms trembled pathetically before giving out entirely.
“…I’m… weak?” she whispered. No—worse than weak. She felt utterly, completely powerless. A breeze passed through, and she shivered. Her armor, once snug and protective, now hung loosely for a brief moment—before slipping off entirely with a heavy crash around her feet. Beneath it, her outfit had… changed. Gone was the practical, if heavy, knight’s attire.
In its place was a flowing, luxurious dress of layered silks and lace, cascading in soft shades of white and gold. The fabric hugged her slender frame, accentuating her new form while offering absolutely no protection whatsoever. Ribbons trailed from her sleeves, and intricate embroidery shimmered with every movement.
“…This is… indecent…” she murmured faintly, though no real conviction followed.
Her long blonde hair spilled down her back, somehow even more radiant than before—brushed to perfection, catching the light like spun gold. Even her stance had changed, her body naturally settling into an elegant posture she had never practiced. And then—
Her new adventure card appeared.

Darkness stared. Silence. "This is a joke.” She jabbed a delicate finger at the card as if that would fix it.
“Where are my defensive stats? My endurance?! My abilities?!” Her voice rose, though it still sounded far too refined to carry proper outrage. Nothing responded. Instead, distant horns echoed. Darkness turned slowly. Over the hill beyond her stood ranks—thousands of soldiers, clad in gleaming armor, banners fluttering in the wind. Perfect formation. Perfect discipline.
At their center, a general dismounted and dropped to one knee. “Your Highness,” he called, head bowed. “Your army awaits your command.”
Darkness blinked. Her lips parted slightly. “My… army?”
She looked back at her hands. Soft. Powerless. Useless. Then back at the endless sea of soldiers. A strange, conflicting emotion twisted in her chest.
“I...I see...” she said slowly, trying to straighten herself—though her posture was already flawlessly regal. “So I have been reduced to a helpless, defenseless princess... utterly incapable of protecting myself...” A faint flush crept across her cheeks.“forced to rely on others for everything.”
The general looked up, confused by the tremor in her voice. Darkness placed a hand to her chest, breathing lightly.
“...surrounded by loyal subjects who would throw themselves into danger at my command...while I remain weak...exposed...vulnerable…”
Her knees pressed together slightly.
“...How... how disgraceful...” A pause. “How wonderfully disgraceful”
The general hesitated. “Your Highness?”
Darkness cleared her throat, forcing composure—though her eyes gleamed faintly.
“Nothing,” she said, lifting her chin with practiced elegance. “Prepare the army.”
She glanced once more at her pitiful stats. Then at the countless soldiers awaiting her will. “If I cannot fight,” she murmured softly, “then I shall command.” A small, satisfied smile formed.
“And endure this new humiliation to its fullest.” Though a thought occurred to her if she lost her army...she'd be even more defenseless. She began practically shaking. I mean surely her army could serve the realm in a better way,"General take the army to the capital and join Princess Iris' army and serve her not some unfit royal like me."
"Princess Lalatina, we serve you. We would never."
Darkness tried to put on a stern voice but it was more cute,"If you truly served me then you would follow my commands. Why must you disgrace me like this?" Darkness shuddered and the army slowly left looking demoralized. Darkness or Princess Lalatina as she was known to everyone turned back to the slot machine to see it stop on.
