Just to ask, the management is able to delete episodes, right?
I'm not sure they can anymore. I know Adama could and did which is why the orphan episodes exist, but I don't think the new guy who took over after he left knows how to. He just seems to delete the text of episodes instead of the whole thing.
Totally. It doesn't happen often or leave much evidence, but I've seen it happen.
Moderation would be kind of impossible otherwise.
It is a shame we can’t re:link to a new thread from one of those old ones again. Besides the one that leads here, were any other links made to other Restart Threads?
So wait what happened?
Someone killed off the main restart list that we've all been using for year by linking all of the options back to existing episodes, which is explicitly against the rules.
Instead of deleting the offending episode, The Management posted a firmly-worded comment. (added by the
Management: the offending episode was edited to continue the restart list in another spot, so the restart
chain is unbroken by selecting the last option in the episode in question.)
Might as well start posting [censored] since the rules don't mean anything anymore.
Or more accurately, don't do that. The issue was addressed and the restart link continues.
So just business as usual, I guess? I didn't mess with trying to put links in story/choices in the first place; I just wasn't sure if I should be like using this newer restart list or not. There's a couple old story starts/lists I thought about working on rather than just making a new choice/chain.
Huh, you edited the kill post to link to this thread. Pretty invisible fix, and I don't see that you mentioned it in any comments until now. I guess it works, though.
I take back my comment about the rules not mattering.
Apologies if the fix wasn't communicated clearly enough. The cinco de mayo ep text had been updated to reflect the fix.
As a general rule, we'll pick the simplest or lowest risk fix for these sorts of cases.
