It surely seemed like it could indeed last forever. Several winters would come and pass as life moved on in Ordon. The village continued to prosper, with only increasingly bountiful harvests that Link would take part in, and eventually, Midna as well. The secret of the imp that lived in the shadow of the woman could not be kept secret forever, and the reveal of her presence came as a shock to many in Ordon. However, much to the pair’s surprise, the village would come to accept Midna as one of their own, welcoming her into their homes and customs, and entertaining her as well as Link whenever the two were invited to enjoy a pleasant dinner.
Much like her existence, the relationship between Midna and Link too came to light. Much to Fado’s dismay. He was indeed heartbroken, and would avoid Link for weeks to come, which broke Link’s heart. She hadn’t meant to hurt him in such a way or lead him on. But she couldn’t lie that her heart had already belonged to another. Another who she was more than happy to have at her side.
She too would begin to enjoy the milking of goats, and the calm hours spent fishing with Colin. As the years passed, Colin would grow into a fine young man, growing even closer with Link than he had before, and Midna would be welcomed into his life as well. He grew to mirror his father’s strength and kindness, and thanks to link, become far more courageous and capable. He had even considered joining the resistance, which was finally beginning to slowly make progress in its mission. However, he was still unsure. After all, he now had a sister to help take care of, Tali. Who was nearing close to her seventh birthday.
Link and Midna already had a gift in mind for the girl, who was showing great interest in adventure. The two had made her a slingshot and worked with Uli to put together a nice tunic for the girl. Link was eager to give them to her. She had spoken with Midna many times about the possible reactions she was excited to see from the girl. She was growing much more comfortable in her role as an ordinary woman, and had eagerly taken the role of Tali’s aunt, who adored the girl as if her own daughter. Midna, however, was far less eager to help raise Ordonian children, however, even she too was starting to grow soft spot for the girl.
The cycle of Ordonian life had become a comfortable life for the two. Even as the world outside was left ever moving onward, and to fend for itself, things were beginning to improve, thanks to the resistance’s great efforts. Although they could still have been making more progress if Link were willing to help, she was finding it increasingly easy to ignore her role as hero. It felt more like a distant memory or dream than a reality. Surely Hyrule could take care of itself given time.
They would have too, because even she so desired, Link had only grown larger, beginning to struggle to even get out of bed in the morning. But it was just so hard to slim down, especially when Ordonian food tasted so good! She had perfected her recipe for pumpkin pie, and even though Midna protested the constant eating at first, Link did notice that she seemed to be growing fond of Link’s new size. How could she possibly slim down now?
--
Link awoke to the sound of birds outside, chirping wildly and pecking at the trees, her home included. She rolled over to find that her lover was already awake, and ready for the day.
“Sleep well?” Link smiled.
“Next to you? Always.” Midna smiled. “Ready to get up?”
Link nodded, and Midna would use her prehensile hair to help lift link up, letting her get out of bed. She would get dressed in an outfit, still much like her usual Ordonian outfit. Still bare armed, and her cleavage was only getting harder to contain. She had Midna help her slipping her pants on, as she slid on her sandals and got ready for the day. She reached behind her head with a tie on her wrist, and slipped her hair back into a quick ponytail. The two were all set, but they were forgetting something. Breakfast.
Link groaned as she climbed down her ladders. Now a small annoyance she had to put up with every day, made increasingly worse by her still growing size. However, it never became so much of a problem to make her think of replacing them.
She carried herself to the kitchen, and soon got to work on a small meal for two. Small being a rather ill-fitting term to describe this meal. When Midna had finished setting the table, and gotten to helping her love, the two would work together and make what most would call, a feast. It wasn’t all for them however, they were going to bring leftovers for Uli’s family if anything was left. Fresh bread rolls, scrambled eggs, a whole ham, sliced and glazed in honey, with potatoes and sausage grilled and seasoned together. Jam, freshly made, and some honey cake to satisfy both Link and Tali’s own sweet tooth. But of course, they couldn’t forget the milk!
“You sure this is enough? We promised Uli we’d bring plenty for the family.” Midna reminded her.
“And we will! This is just a small breakfast, you know they won’t need too much.”
“It’s definitely small, I know you can eat all this and still have room for dessert.”
“Oh well… I’ll just have a little bit, I can wait until we’re with them to really eat.”
“Right, well if you don’t mind, your bread rolls are calling to me.” Midna stated.
She reached out to grab one, and Link too, would do the same as they sat down to eat. Midna had a normal amount for anyone outside of Ordon. Her restraint had managed to keep her from gaining too much weight over the years. However, living with Link saw her putting on just a few extra pounds. Much less than anyone living in Ordon had gained. The two began to finally enjoy their breakfast.
