Sharon woke up first. She had no way of knowing how long she had been asleep, but she still felt rather dozy. Had the spray contained a sedative?
Jim was still sleeping next to her, and she shook her awake. "Huh?" Jim said, sounding rather out of it. Then "What? Oh!" as her memory of what had happened returned. "Your sister is crazy. And surely thirteen should be too old for her to want to play with dolls."
"She's really a lot older than that. She may look like my younger sister, but she's actually my elder sister."
"What? Does she have some rare genetic condition making her look a lot younger than she really is?"
"I'll explain another time. For now we need to find a way to escape."
Jim followed Sharon down the stairs and out of the doll's house. It stood on a table about four feet high, but from their shrunken perspective it seemed as though they were over twenty feet above the floor. "There's a carpet," Sharon pointed out, as she leant over the edge of the table and trying not to suffer from vertigo. "With that to cushion us, given how little we weigh now, we might be all right if we just jumped down."
"I'd rather not risk it," Jim said. "Perhaps we can find something in the house with which to make a rope so we can climb down."
