As Faith opened the door, her surprise at seeing her friend carrying a belly her size again was palpable, but only for a moment before and understanding of the situation was seemingly implanted within her. Much to Jane's bewilderment, a sly smile began spread across Faith's lips. "Jaaane" she mock whined in a sing-song manner, "you didn't tell me you were going to become a self-replicating hivemind!" Now THAT was different, not just her blase attitude, but also that vocabulary, Jane hadn't stopped to try an summarize her situation, but even if she had SHE couldn't have put it so succinctly. "H-how do you know?" she returned in a voice barely above a whisper. "Well I mean it's obvious, isn't it?" Faith continued, still far too nonchalant about the ordeal, "there's you, there's baby you growing up fast..." she gestured with a smile to Jane's nearly to term stomach, "and there's that mental aura you've developed as a higher power, dispensing revelations to me, your first disciple! Unless..." She broke off the sentence with a grin that would have alarmed Jane if several parts in her prior exposition hadn't set the girl for a loop.
"Higher power?" Jane muttered to herself, "Mental aura?" she mused, finally sensing the world around her from a new dimension as her attention was drawn to her expanding aura, a strange amorphous fuzziness extending out from her, reaching towards other notes, like the one coinciding over her friend, about to help her inside... "Disciple? Wait, Faith, don-" It was too late. As Faith's fingers brushed hers, her fuzzy tendrils latched onto the small fragment that was her friend's consciousness and immediately absorbed it, sending both girls reeling for a moment. Knowledge, memories, fears, desires, all foreign to Jane, suddenly rushed into her mental space as a ride, at the center the delicate form of what she could only categorize as Faith's "soul." «OMG OMG OMG» She heard as a voice in her mind, «I was joking about being your disciple but you actually did it thank you thank you you!» Jane was at a loss for words several times over, not least of which as her enthusiastic friend (whom as she now noted had been harboring forbidden feelings about the two of them long before this) seemed to have a stronger grasp on this mindscape than she did.
"Wha- no, I, ah... This was an accident!" She eventually squeaked out, a response that almost left Faith crestfallen before she quickly amended "I-I mean that's not to say I wouldn't have, but I just didn't mean to right here and now, can you stand up?" They'd both fallen to their knees, but Faith's body - whose sensations she could now feel in addition to her own - hung limp over hers. «I can if you automate this process back to me, your magestiness» the voice tittered in her mind, «and you can just think your commands at me in the same way I'm "talking" to you right now!» «Commands?» Jane subvocalized in the manner Faith had shown her, «Faith, I'm not gonna- your my friend! I'm not gonna COMMAND you anything! I'm not actually a higher being, it's just me, Jane!» Faith pondered this for a second, but although Jane could read her thought process like an open book, she was no more prepared to answer her when she finally ventured «but what if I want you to?»
Fortunately, outside influences broke up her train of thought, as the telltale feeling of another consciousness was approaching up the street towards Faith's house. Within moments, whoever it was would be able to see this spectacle in all its glory. Jane quickly flexed her mental might to move both bodies inside and lock the door before returning control to Faith, who sheepishly grinned, "oops, right, I mayyy have invited some friends over for a girl's night before you texted me... So how excited do you think they'll be about this?" she gestured, both at Jane's ready to pop figure and her own, which had just begun to expand. Jane...
