Jim decided to call his younger brother Steve and ask him to bring the adapter over in exchange for a small bribe. Unfortunately, even before his telephone had finished dialing, the computer shut itself down. Apparently, the battery monitor was faulty.

Jim turned to the bed, wondering what would happen now that the computer had shut down. There, on the bed, were
