Quickly, Dabbler snatched up the pager, thankful for whatever plot lapsed was allowing it to function like a cell phone. "Dolly!" he cried. "Dolly, we're here!" He passed a hand over his eyes, feeling somewhat dizzy. Part of him was still Daniel Blair, his original didn't seem to have wiped away that personna very well...
"Thaynk T," Dolly drawled. "When you didn't come back from you're meeting with JigSaw, Ah was afraid somethin' awful had happened to you!"
"Well," said Dabbler, thinking over the events that had brought him to this point, "perhaps not awful per se. We are in quite a fix, though, we were hiking in the Jungle of Confusion and somehow strayed clear out into the AddVenture."
"Yes, we traced you that far, Hilbert said that was real easy ta do. Ah got a fix on ya now, though, darlin', shall Ah 'port ya home?"
Dabbler looked uncertainly toward JigSaw. Was she done jerking his leash, or...?
"Yes, let's do it," said JigSaw, sounding tired. She looked a bit ill too, probably her alternate personality hadn't been wiped right either. "This has gone a lot further than I intended," she went on, "I just wanted to teach you a lesson and get a good time out of it at the same time. Besides, with Sawyer part of me again, I'm completely whole again for the first time in ages. I'm done with my 'vengeance.'"
"Don't be too sure we're finished with Sawyer," Dabbler warned. "Sure, he got reabsorbed in this thread, but that was after a split or two, I'm sure there's still a version of him running around somewhere."
"Thanks, I'll keep my guard up."
"Dabbler?" Dolly asked. "You still there? Drat this static..."
"We're here, Dolly. Yes, 'port us home!"
"Almost have you pinpointed again... ah! Got you!" cried Dolly's voice. There was a flash of light, and Dabbler and JigSaw had the familiar feeling building up that betokened being 'ported...
