JH got on her bike and raced over to the opposite end of the park. She had admit, she always wanted a motorcycle and this little number was doing the job just fine. The sound of the wind racing past her, the way she sped past onlookers and traffic, the way the engine revved between her legs. She could get used to this.
“Okay, working on my old look, but hopefully I can keep the bike.” She thought as she turned a corner.
The motorcycle’s engine growled as she came upon the…okay, there was a big, glowing arrow right in her sight but she wasn’t going to question it. She was just going to go with the flow. Things stopped making sense when her clothes exploded and she had a set of implants a porn star would blush over. Still, this was the first step in getting some Duel Dollars to grind over.
She saw near the arrow someone was getting hassled, a lot of dudes wearing cardboard boxes on their heads, the Canary Crate Gang. No point in slowing down, time to speed ahead!
“C’mon, just drop it, we’ll letcha go!” One guy had a butterfly knife out, doing tricks with it to show off his skills.
“Or you could just bug off!” The woman guarded her purse.
“Look, there’s an easy way and a hard—”
“OUTTA THE WAY!”
Nobody could react in time as a few hundred pounds of metal and plastic slid their way into the foray and caused the members to either dive for cover or, in the case of the knife-wielder, get bowled over tumbled through the bushes.
“Boss!” The other members went to him as the bike stopped.
“Run, I got these guys!” JH said to the woman who took her advice and fled. “Okay, so how does this—”
Mission Start: Defeat Canary Crate Gang
“Whelp, guess I’m in the middle of it.”
“You flaming bitch!” One came running at her and…oh right, she barely knew how to fight.
BLOCK
It came in big, glowing letters that she couldn’t miss so she did as asked. His punch was parried, barely pushing her back despite their difference in size.
KICK
Again, the letters popped up and JH obeyed. Her kick was a quick jab, but he definitely felt it. once again, he lunged at her, only for her to do a quick step back and strike with another kick. As he reeled back, she went further, leg whipping out and striking. She moved in and struck him with a couple punches and he crumpled like a lamp
KO!
With that, the fight was over, but unfortunately, she had more coming. As soon as one crate guy was down, another took his place. This time he was wearing one with grapes.
“Seriously, is that a thing, or do you guys just not have any wardrobe budget?” Janet scoffed, finding it a bit funny these guys were such a menace in the city.
ROUND TWO, FIGHT!
This guy was a bit heftier, actually managing to block Janet’s kick and countering. He actually grazed her, but she could manage. He was better with his defense than the previous goon, probably having some formal training.
MIX UP YOUR HIGHS AND LOWS!
She had long since stopped questioning the words and did as told. Instead of trying to break through his block, she just went around it and aimed low. He felt that when she struck him in the thighs. He retaliated with his own punch, but unfortunately the windup meant he was left open when she dodged.
Like the other guy he went down in no time, barely for her to get a combo in when he folded and—wait, how did she know that was a combo?
FINAL ROUND, FIGHT!
This time the guy was a huge bruiser, looked like he could lift a car on his own. No time to think, she had move. Best way to start was by taking the lead. She rushed in and struck him, but unfortunately that was what he was expecting. She was met by him grabbing and throwing her like a doll! Geez, that guy was like a wall of meat, what was she going to do?
USE YOUR MOVES!
What the hell did that mean? She knew how to punch and kick but…wait, something was coming in her head, something she instinctually knew. She concentrated on her foot, it suddenly flaring with a wild, purple aura. He came at her, but she was ready with her own solution. The man was struck with a purple blast of energy, clearly damaging him. She did it again, this time strike him in the face at point blank to he got the full effect of getting kicked and blasted.
After that he was done, another gang member left on the ground.
YOU WIN!
“Okay, I guess I passed?” She shrugged, still confused over this whole deal.
Rumble at the Park Complete!
Casual wear unlocked!
200 Duel Dollars Awarded!
Two-hundred? That was chump change in the grand scheme of things, but it was something.
“We’ll remember this!” The gang members had picked themselves up and fled, no surprise as the sounds of sirens were coming in.
Not bad for a first job. Now what else did she have?
