Aladda's corruption, whatever its cause might be, was still continuing. Goodness had already turned into mischievousness, and mischief was now starting to shade into outright evil.
She quickly realised that the weak spot in Sharon's wish was her use of the word "better". That was a word that could be interpreted in a great many ways in the context of eyesight. For instance, one possibility would be to give Jim X-ray vision. That had caused the character played by Ray Milland nothing but grief in the horror film "The Man with X-ray Eyes". Or she could increase the sensitivity of Jim's eyes to light. That would be a benefit in the dark, but during the day he would have to wear dark glasses to avoid being almost blinded by painful glare. Or she could interpret the wish as Sharon had intended. To lull her into a false sense of security, only to do something devilish with the remaining two wishes, might be amusing.
All this thought took her only a second or so, before she came to a decision and:
