Reynard should have been alerted to a potential problem the moment he noticed that Cheyenne wasn't whom she appeared to be. Needless to say, he was prepared to continue with this little charade and find out who she was. They finished making love and were lying in the bed holding one another, Colleen was caressing Cheyenne's back and quietly grabbed the zipper pull he felt there and began to pull it down. Cheyenne's expression changed to that of surprise and then went slack as the magical qualities of the disguise were shut down by the disconnection. Colleen scrambled out of bed and pulled Cheyenne's face and mane forward and the suit slid down off the shoulders of a young hyena woman.
"Who the hell are you?!", asked Colleen in mock surprise. "Where's Cheyenne?" This question was actually quite direct. Reynard did indeed want to know where the equine enigma was hiding.
The hyena woman climbed out of the bed and finished removing the palomino suit she was wearing and tossed it onto the bed. She wasn't wearing anything now, but her demeanor was of someone not to be trifled with. "That isn't your concern Reynard", she said, not fooled at all by Reynard's costume. "What concerns you is your loyalty to your primary employer, that is to say, Meiou."
"Look, Andrea's in charge now, she and I can run circles around Meiou's operations. We are much better suited to run the syndicate."
The hyena grabbed a nearby robe and wrapped herself in it, tying the belt and looking at Reynard as if he were some sort of imbecile. "If that is the case, then why am I here, right now, with you, and Cheyenne and Colleen are long gone..."
Reynard did not have an answer, but he had a plan. Colleen reached down to grab another drugged needle when the hyena pulled a small pistol from the pocket of her robe and aimed it at him/her. "Don't do it. You haven't a chance and I'll shoot you where you stand. You may be a valuable asset to the syndicate, but your loyalty is questionable and you can always be replaced..."
Reynard/Colleen stopped in his/her tracks trying to decide what to do...
