Safety in Numbers?

Unending BE - episode 240346

"I'd like to force him to smoke some Streetwalker cigarettes and see how he liked being addicted to them," Sharon said.

"They might not work on a man," Jim pointed out. "In any case, there's more to it than just the cigarettes. The costume must have been part of it too, somehow. There's obviously something very odd about shoes that won't come off."

Sharon took a puff from her cigarette and said: "I suppose you're right, Jim. Pity. I'd like to see him suffer. So what should we do with him? We can't keep him a prisoner here indefinitely. Besides, sooner or later his suppliers may miss him and send someone looking for him. They might have a copy of that list of addresses, and come round here."

"Perhaps we should try and contact the other women first, then. There may be safety in numbers, if the suppliers try to get heavy with us." Sharon agreed to this.

The list included the phone numbers as well as addresses, so Sharon rang the first number. (They had decided that the women might be more inclined to trust another woman.) The reply came:

  1. "Hello. Jane Smith here."
  2. "Hello. Fifi LaBelle here. I'm afraid my next free slot isn't till 11pm."
  3. Something else.
