Dabbler dropped right into the middle of the two-elephant bed (as it was fondly called) in his Author Suite, the evidence of his wandering eye still tall in his lap, though his discarded clothing, by Anna's contrivance, appeared immediately above him and was dumped into that lap immediately afterwards.
Not in time to hide the evidence, though.
That wouldn't have done Dabbler any good anyway. Dolly and Gidget, standing at the food of the bed, hands on hips, had plainly witnessed everything (also by Anna's contrivance). Their faces convulsed in fury, they started reading him the riot act right away, with liberal use of words like "bastard," "no-account," "asshole," and "how-could-you."
Which was foolish, because they had a very good idea of how he could, and that was why they had gotten the spell from Kiya to begin with that would pop Dabbler back home any time he got the hots for someone else. Of course, he didn't usually get so far in the follow-through.
(Incidentally, in the event you're wondering, no, they weren't the "two elephants." The bed was called that due to its size, not its occupants, who are, in point of fact, two stunningly attractive ladies. And even though they made me say that, it's still true.)
Dabbler, red-faced, waited for them to finish. I really didn't need this right now, he thought. The AddVenture's in danger, Fitzgerald is in a fix, and Lizzie's expecting my help. Damn it, if this is what I can expect for rescuing Anna Jaeger I'll just leave her in the Downtime next time she gets stuck there....
"What's the scoop with you and trollops named Anna, anyway?" Dolly raged. "First Anna Kournikova, now Anna Jaeger...."
Not that he had really had that option, of course, whatever Allambee had claimed. And to be fair, it wasn't her rescue Anna had been punishing him for, but the kinky way he'd described Zorlond's conjured illusion of her in the Wild Oats thread.
"Aren't we good enough for you, you wretch?" Gidget demanded. "Don't you get enough at home, is that why you feel you have to dip your wick in every--"
As punishment, it felt a bit extreme. After all, that hadn't really been Anna, it had been an illusion. And it was really Dabbler's Original that was responsible, not him. But here he was, all the same, in dutch with his steady girlfriends, who were quite plainly not going to grant him release from his raging hard on anytime soon, and the real hell of it was that in spite of everything, he still couldn't get Anna out of his head.
"See if you get any from us in the foreseeable future--"
He really couldn't. By T, that girl was hot....
"Maybe if we just cut if off--!"
He let Dolly and Gidget rant, feeling more and more abject. When will it end? he wondered. There was no sign that it would soon. If anything, his failure to defend himself fanned their fury even higher, and soon they were hitting him....
Finally, he had enough. "Okay, that's it!" he shouted, after Gidget landed a blow in a particularly sensitive spot. "Get away from me!" With his powers, to speak was to make it happen. The girls were thrown across the room.
