BS/DIC (Aftermath): Deja Voodoo Receives a Caller

Unending BE - episode 308272

(You're right, DVd, I did miss this one. I was kind of wondering when this shoe would drop. Yes, by all means, let's have the story!--Dab.)

Back home, Dabbler discovered that Sir Impey Biggs was indeed listed in the legal directory, but soon discovered also that all attempts to ring him up got only recorded messages. It seemed his time was almost entirely taken up in work for the Wimsey family in another reality, and until these matters were resolved he would be unavailable.

Obviously, if he was to learn anything more about the man who had called him "Father," Dabbler's only recourse was to take Biggs' suggestion and consult the chronicler.

Which is why, shortly afterwards, we find Dabbler rapping at the door of Deja Voodoo's suite.

The door opened silently, on a far from silent small red parrot, who insulted and swore at Dabbler and told him no one got to see Deja Voodoo without paying the toll.

Dabbler conjured Iago up a few worms, whereupon the foul-mouthed little fowl cried "Pass, friend!" -- and gobbled up the worms, and showed him back to DVd's office. There the denizen of the suite awaited, sitting behind his desk and his own steepled fingers. He wore his Jafar appearance today, as the presence of Iago had foreshadowed.

"Greetings, Dabbler," said the tall, dark, sinister ugly man. "I will not pretend not to know why you have come...."

  1. *Take it away, DVd!

  2. >Meanwhile, elsewhere, there was villainy afoot! (Isn't there always?)
