"Ok," said Alicia... "I can do this."
"But you can't get out of the water," said Bridget.
"Yeah but... I bet I can for a little bit. I just need something to dry my hands on."
The three looked around for a moment, "My feathers, use my feathers." Alicia did so, swimming up to Bridget and rubbing her hands on Alicia's feathers. They were soft, and absorbent. Also Bridget started preening as Alicia did so, making soft cooing noises.
"Ok," said Alicia, "I think that's as good as it's going to get..." She lifted herself out of the water and quickly started walking over on her hands to the automorph. She didn't make it more than a few feet before she started gasping, but managed to crawl her way to the automorph.
When she finally got there she quickly started typing out that they'd return to normal... then paused. They hadn't gotten to have any fun as mythological creatures at all. Instead she quickly canceled the automorph's instructions about a xentaur and instead typed in that Kim would become a proper centaur.
She was gasping by then, but managed to hit execute.
Kim moaned from behind her. Alicia didn't take the time to look, instead she quickly typed that as a mermaid she no longer needed to be kept wet. A feeling of relaxation washed over her as she hit execute, the need to gasp for air and keep herself from drying out vanishing. She turned around to see what her friends were up to.
