Glow left the team to their fun, an after action report due and radio transcripts to go over. Glow needed to know that the police had either found something suspicious, or been skilfully deflected away from the warehouse. Failing that, team two still had standby orders in case the police started coming under any attacks their training could not handle. For a first real mission, team one had done very well in getting in and out without revealing their powers, and the extra police protection a break in would arouse would only further the X-Teams goals. The narrow escape with the guards would serve as a good warning for future missions.
In the meantime, an exhausted Dr Cox would work with Laser and Glow to gather intelligence while continuing his own lab work, for now the most over worked of the team. It was a pity he did not have a real assistant to help him, and while Glow could have put it to the Professor that a high school honour role student and potential mutant like Wendy would have made a god addition, Wendy would be using her resourcefulness to help Mameto by now…
Taking a break from her work, Glow did a quick search of Shadow Peak High’s student population to find more info on this Jim character. Breaking encryption, even the freeware stuff Glow had sent to Wendy was no mean feat, and the serum still had Dr Cox up at night trying to figure it all out. All in all Jim was potentially a great danger until he was neutralised somehow, but Glow was a little unwilling to front up to the professor with what little she had found out from Wendy.
The entire episode with Wendy and Mameto had Glow feeling a little guilty, and both Jim, Wendy and Glow’s new powers would have to be kept secret for a little longer, especially now she had the added responsibility. Now Glow knew why she always saw Maxima start the orgies but find Maxine long gone before they ended when she had been the leader. Perhaps Glow had underestimated her predecessor- Maxine could be a font of wisdom when she was not powered up.
Armed with Jim’s permanent record with some very interesting details included Glow started planing her next move, hoping that Wendy was doing alright with Mameto, and wishing she could get away from the team enough to check up on her, secretly hoping she would find the sweat and innocent girl remained under whatever Mameto had been doing to her.

Wendy sat in a corner of the lab taking notes as her attention shifted from the busty young woman undulating in test area 3 and the monitor showing the woman’s brainwaves and vital statistics. Something sensual and slow was playing in the background, more than enough to dance to but nothing distracting for Wendy, though the young mutant felt like joining the woman in her dance…
Doing a quick check with a modified Geiger counter, Wendy confirmed that her projector needed more focus shielding, she was being hit by a small amount of its rays sitting behind it and messing with her own brainwaves. However, Wendy did not feel there was much harm in associating sexy women doing a striptease and sexy dance with pleasure, and without her drug, she would not get a Pavlovian sexual response like her subject was. Wendy wondered how specific the process was, if the girl would only enjoy striping for her, or just her or just stripping, if the music would act as a trigger and so on.
Damn! Turning off the music and the projector, Wendy sent a quick message to the terminal Erica was using, telling her that she was done for now. Mameto had made the arraignments that had brought in the girl, and Wendy did not really want to find out what happened next, though Wendy was sure Mameto had been mixing what appeared to be a memory suppressant.
No wonder Erica always wore those hair ornaments and the like that disrupted most mind altering waves. Wendy had no doubt been teaching herself to enjoy brainwashing people with her malfunctioning machine, and she certainly didn’t want that! Wendy noticed that Erica’s latest delivery included quite a few interesting materials; she would have to learn to make her own protection like Erica’s.
Still, the possibility that she had mind altering powers of her own sounded fun, if a little scary and a lot of responsibility.
