Of course she could use the Automorph system to have her way with Kim, or Bridget for that matter, but there were two very serious flaws with that possibility. First, dominating by a practically supernatural power her closest friend would not be fair. She could not force this on her friend for any good reason. Second, in doing so, Kim would stop being the same Kim that Alicia was now infatuated with.
She'd just have to do it the old fashioned way. She tried to force herself to sleep while she pondered how this might be accomplished
"I'm already getting some ideas for what to do next time." Bridget chimed enthusiastically.
"... You know... I think we should maybe give this a little bit of thought..."
"What for? Just so long as we set a timer everythin--"
"That's not what I mean. You wanted to be thinner. You thought it would make you happier. You botched that."
"That was just a technicality."
"That's not what I mean. Supposing you had it right? Would you be satisfied?"
"... um..."
"But look at Alicia. Nobody was trying to change her into a catgirl... er... catperson... By pure accident, she has become more selfactualized."
"You're making too much out of it, i think. I bet she'll be tired of it in a day or two."
"Maybe... but that's not really my point"
After a brief reflection, Bridget countered. "You can't have intentional accidents... You probably can't even reproduce what happened to Alicia."
"Also not my point.. The Automorph system is a very powerful and equally mysterious device. It's been up to every single task we've put it to, and we have absolutely no idea how it works or where it really even came from.
"What if..." Kim trailed off to think a little harder, "What if someone else got the Automorph... It could probably be used for tremendous evil."
Bridget nodded in understanding. "It could be the final invention of mankind."
Confused, Kim could only answer with a "Huh?"
"A science fiction term. Its a device that is so powerful that it could either lead to a human utopia where mankind is relieved of the necessity to labor for its own survival by a benevolent power of their own creation, or else a device that causes doomsday, or both."
"... Yeah... thats what I'm talking about..."
They reached Kim's Unit and parted ways.
