Backstage Troubleshooter’s Office…
I just want you to know, this is under protest.
DJ Woohoo nodded. “Fine, as long as this gets dealt with.” Seated at her desk, she turned to face Kiya and Delilah, seated in the visitor’s chairs… (author’s note: couldn’t find a layout for the office, furniture is assumed) DJ quickly glared at the 4th wall, then continued as if nothing else had been said. “Kiya has brought us up to date as to the current situation already, but refused to give any reasons why it’s happening until you were contacted, Original. I don’t understand why you need to be involved, though. For that matter, I don’t understand why your Avatar’s having such a severe reaction to the memories of his character self.”
It’s all… complicated. I’ll let Kiya explain most of it. She probably just wanted me here so I can’t claim ‘foul’.
Kiya sighed. “I’m sorry. But, nobody else has any clue what’s going on. None of the other Authors have any clue about us, and you’ve locked Anna out…”
I won’t let her… Urgh. Never mind. Continue.
Kiya nodded. “The fact is, Zorlond… There’s a much deeper connection between Avatar and Original than the other pairings here in the AddVenture. In the Original’s reality, people would just call it a delusion…”
Fruitbat, leaning against the wall nearby, spoke up, “As compared to the rest of the AddVenture?” Her remark was clearly intended as humorous.
Kiya just nodded, solemnly. “Yes. You know about the plot device known as interdimensional travel, right? Well, consider the individual threads of the AddVenture as being dimensions in their own right, all going their own ways in relation to one another. Now expand that to include everything. Every dimensional possibility, every type of universe, every time and place, including the Originals’ own world. Everything. From that perspective, the AddVenture is simply one sub-set of dimensions, somewhere on the high end of the sexuality scale. Now, we’ve got our own systems to ‘port’ between these dimensions, it’s a fundamental part of our reality, but we can’t wander outside this subset. We might use an orphan episode, but that’s really just making a dimension that’s already local visible and easily accessible.”
DJ nodded. “Yes, most of that’s already common knowledge, if worded differently. What’s that got to do with Zorlond?”
