author's note, please stike the 3 sentences: "Feeling confident she made a bet for 4 crowns on the much larger rotweiller. After making the bet and paying the fee she still had 2 silvers and 7 crowns left. Feeling extra confident she was boasting about her bet when she heard a familiar voice." from your reading of this, it was a poor editing job that allowed that to seep into this rendition of my story.

Lindsay thought about what the fellow said, and she looked over the two dogs that were about to fight. The large rotweiller looked mean and hungry, and the other dog, a small pit bull. She finished her beer and bought herself another one, and gave the bartender a dollar tip, leaving her with $151 left. She drank the beer quickly, while she looked over the dogs. The little one was so playful, she was certain that there was no way this little dog could stand against the large, ferocious, dark beast it was up against. She looked around for someone to bet with. "Fifty dollars on the rotweiller" she called out, looking for someone to bet with.

One of the patrons, an older man with stubble on his chin smiled at her and said, "I'll take that bet." Not wanting to appear to eager, he continued, "I always had a thing for the underdog, so to speak."

Pleased with herself, Lindsay filled out the betting slip and gave her money and the fee to the attendent, who was walking around the pit, to serve just that purpose. As the wager was filed, she heard her father's voice, "You are so certain of your bet, aren't you? Come wager with me. I've got a hundred dollars on that little puppy against your favorite. I'll enjoy taking your money, little girl."
