As Sharon made her way through the forest, she gradually became aware of a dim humming sound that sounded very far away. It was not unpleasant, but it was too faint for her to be able to tell exactly what it was.
She continued walking for about another half hour, and the sound became louder. Suddenly it dawned on her. It was singing!
Yes, now that she had recognized it, it became easier to discern. It was definately a man singing what sounded to be a most raucous and joyful tune. It had no meter in the traditional sense, and it changed keys constantly, yet somehow the sound of it brought a smile to Sharon's tiny face.
She was enjoying the music, when suddenly she noticed that the path had changed directions and was leading her away from the wonderful song. She hesitated. At her current size, she was nervous about leaving the path, but the again it was getting late and she would need to find a place to sleeep soon. It might as well be here.
Sharon turned around and headed back towards the music. When she left the path she was careful to disturb the landscape in any way she could in order to help her find her way back if she inadvertantly wandered too far.
