"Holy shit!" Andy gasped, "That's Rachelle Mita!"
"Mita? As in Mita Enterprises?" Jim said as Calla was placing a cold compress on the back of his neck.
"You said it," Rick said with a nod to the girl, huddled in a chair. "Our own favorite electronics supplier's daughter. I hope he's okay, we can sure use him. BTW, I heard a report of a fire on the way over, what's that about?"
"Nightclub or something," Jim replied. "Apparently most of the people didn't get out. It was... pretty bad. Kind of a shock, there must have been some sort of line under it or something because they're having trouble putting the fire out."
"That's pretty bad," Rick replied. "Things are going a little crazy around her all of a sudden. Is it connected?"
"You'd best believe it!" Ryojdn said striding into the room. "Ryodjn!" Jim said surprised. "What happened to Lindsay?"
"I'm back," Ryodjn nodded. "Lindsay will be fine. She's resting at her home now, I had to call in a favor or two but... and I brought you this," he said tossing a roll of paper and several USB memory sticks on a table.
Rick went over to them and unrolled the paper. After studying them for a moment he looked over at Jim. "Ah... Jimbo you should take a look at this. Am I seeing what I'm seeing?"
"That's... whoa. That's a LOT of positive charge there. Positrons, what good is that going to do?"
"The creature Rick encountered has become in essence a minor demon. That report of a fire, the strange things happening, all of this is demon work," Ryodjn said. "Now your company has some of the most advanced reality altering sciences that humans have discovered and you can't do whats going on can you?"
Rick reluctantly shook his head. "I'm not even sure BlackCo. could operate on a scale like this, and the woman with their executives certainly seemed like she was nervous."
"She was an agent as well, though not involved in this," he replied. "From what you've told me, I don't think BlackCo. will be a problem right now. They want to steer clear of it if there's demons involved. That woman would have recognized what Monica has become. "
"But how would you know something like that?" Calla demanded. "I have magic and I had no clue."
"You should have," Ryodjn said. "But the demons will be coming, and soon, the way all that wild energy is saturating this town. "Demons are negative, which means electrons on this plane. If you hit them with positron weapons..."
"I get it," Rick said excitedly. "The antiparticle! You'll dust 'em! Damn, we would never have thought to generate positrons that way."
"Exactly!" Ryodjn grinned. "And you, my dear Calla, I know because I'm an agent myself, but not from a demon, from the other side."
"What?!" Andy exploded. "This is crazy!"
"Oh c'mon," Calla said, with a toss of her long blonde hair. "Magic is real why not angels?"
After a moment Andy shrugged. "Then I guess we're just screwed. Where's Meghan in all this, I wonder?"
"I'll explain about Meghan--" Rick began but was interrupted by a growl.
"Why should we believe you?" Jim demanded. "You haven't been straight with us at all! What kind of angelic being is that?"
"I am not an angelic being. I am as mortal as you just an agent. But I swear to you, I am on your side in this," Ryodjn answered. "Besides, if you do nothing the demons will come for you anyway."
"Well that's depressinh," Rick commented. "I might as well go alert security. Maybe it'll do some good."
"I suppose we'll have to try," Jim said at last. He sighed. "We don't have much magic on our side, sorry Calla... I hope these plans cut it, because if they don't we're in trouble." No one said anything for a moment but then Calla stood up and all eyes turned to her, even Rachelle's.
"No magic? Then it's time," Calla said suddenly, looking very firm.
"For what?" Andy asked, surprised.
"For Devika to come back."
