"Sharon!" he gasped. "Whatever happened to you?"

That served to dispel the thought that she had had that he might be to blame. Feeling slightly guilty, she said: "Come in, Jim, and I'll tell you all about it."

"Not that I saw." She picked up the card to hand it to Jim.
