As they flew to the second floor, Katie tried to calm herself down a bit by formulating the right questions in her mind. The potion they had consumed earlier had turned both her and Tiff into stunningly hot super chicks. While she herself was taller and more muscular than Tiff, the latter sported a larger pair of breasts. Tiff claimed to be weaker than Katie, but at the same time she had telekinesis, something Katie herself had not. Or did she?
And why was she so turned on by Tiff? Was it a side-effect of her own transformation? Was she just this much easier to arouse now? Or was it Tiff herself? Maybe the other supergirl was releasing some kind of super pheromones that would turn everybody on? Katie sighed as she realized that she would not be able to answer this as long as it was just the two of them.
So she focused on the task at hand and quickly found the scientists study. It only contained a desk and a bookshelf – but most of the books looked like standard literature rather than related to science – much less the super potion they had found. She didn’t waste any time and started searching the desk. “Damn, it!” she cursed as all she found were a few notes of little importance.
Katie remembered the bookshelf and found that it was already half-empty. Tiff had used her telekinesis and was causing all books to float out and land neatly in a different corner. Katie saw her first impression confirmed as these books were indeed literature pieces.
But then she noticed the safe. Hidden behind the books, there was a small safe, just big enough to contain documents.
“How are we going to open it?” Katie wondered out loud – only to blush in embarrassment upon the stupid question. She floated to the safe and quickly ripped the door open using her super strength. Inside, there was only one notebook similar to the one they had already found.
“Looks like we found it,” Tiff commented.
Katie began to quickly go through the notes. With her superhuman senses, she was able to read everything within a few seconds. In short, the 58 versions that were created before the potion Katie and Tiff had consumed, were all failed attempts to get the same result as the 59th potion. And apparently there was no real 60th potion.
“I see,” Katie suddenly exclaimed. “The time limit was to ensure the negative side-effects would be temporary too. The scientist didn’t have any test persons to fall back to, so this way the same person could continue testing. Unfortunately, one of the earlier versions had a flaw that ended up killing him.”
“So, there’s no permanent version of this stuff?” Tiff asked. “Well at least we know how to make more of it.”
“Since we know how to make more of it, we should be able to get a permanent version as well,” Katie said with new hope, rising higher into the air.
