"I think we should create a new option," said Jim. "I'm not sure any woman would want to make a career, even a short career, of this sort of donation, but Sharon can still help. This time we can make a careful thorough video record of Sharon's progress, and then that way we could provide information to any future women who want to try this. We make the video -- and by then, she may opt to be stabilized."
"Or not."
"Or not," admitted Jim. "But this way, she provides a service to the whole idea of women donating."
"You're right, of course. We'll have to discuss it with her when she wakes up."
"And as for Can- " Jim looked around and blinked. "Candace!?"
Dr. Crenshaw was concerned. "I don't see her. She was just here."
Jim rushed to the door. "I think she's run off! Excuse me!"
Jim made his way outside, just in time to see Candace catching a bus. He cursed his rotten luck -- for once, public transportation could be THIS dependable!? -- but he ran onto the bus just before it left the stop.
The bus was almost deserted, and Jim sat alone with Candace in the back.
"And where do you think YOU'RE going?"
"Downtown. Most of the buses in this system do, you know."
"That's not an answer."
"Okay. Mountaineers."
Jim was impressed. Mountaineers was a downtown strip club, one that preferred to feature big bust performers. Jim secretly knew quite a bit about it, including the fact that it was named Mountaineers in part because it was founded by a West Virginian.

Jim felt thunderstruck, for Candace was definitely not her usual self.
