Jim was about to make some excuse to Rick and Jenna -- both friends he'd known from their high school days, so for almost a decade, and Sharon had known them for some years too -- about why he was on what looked like a date with someone who seemed definitely not to be Sharon, but Lori cut in with her own explanation. "I know you can't possibly recognize me, guys," she told Rick and Jenna in her very high voice (quite attractive, not squeaky, but far from Sharon's lush contralto) as all four left the zoo proper and headed for its parking lot, "but I'm really Sharon!"
"I would never have recognized you, Sharon," said Jenna, straightfacedly, as Rick stifled a guffaw and gently shook his head. "How do you manage to look so short? Special shoes, I guess."
Lori just plunged straight on into her explanation. "Yes, I know it sounds impossible, but Jim got me this, well, we call it a skinsuit, and it looks like a real human skin with nothing inside it... you put it on, and it can change you head to toe!"
