Luis and Gwen joined the party at the pool; There were four guys and five girls listening to music. Two of the guys were working the grill, a guy and girl were working the bar that was attached to the kitchen of the beach house, another guy and another girl were making out in the jacuzzi, and three girls were in the pool. Everyone had a drink in hand.
“I thought that were was no reception up here,” Gwen said.
“What do you mean?” Luis asked.
“I heard your PDA chiming for the last half hour.”
Luis pulled out his PDA; He now had nine new profiles.
“Come on,” Gwen said, taking Luis by the arm. She led him to the guest house across the pool.
The guest house was across the pool from the main beach house. It was larger than a one bedroom apartment, with its own kitchen and bar. In the middle of the room were several magician's props; Among them were a guillotine, a cabinet, and some other random items.
“I wonder if they work...?” Gwen said.
“Knock yourself out,” Luis said, sitting at the bar, and again looking at his PDA.
As Gwen experimented with the props, Luis looked over everyone's profiles:
The entire property belongs to Faye, who pretended to rent out the place, but didn't want anyone to know that she was rich. Most of the girls of the sorority are into magic, of all sorts. Faye herself has this fascination about forest creatures, Dawn and Eve have a fascination about conjoinments and divisions, and Gwen has this fascination about being changed into various, weird forms.
“Oh, phooey!” Gwen said. “None of these are real!”
“Are you sure that you're doing it right?” Luis asked.
“I think so,” Gwen replied. “The blade on the guillotine is a break away, there's a curtain inside of the cabinet that's completely black, and I don't know where to begin with those!” she said, pointing to the magician's hat, the wand, the rings, and the other random items.
Magician's props... Luis thought to himself as the nearby magician's hat caught his eye. Then he had an idea. He decided to be able to make the magician's props work for real.
Luis quickly typed in the changes that he wanted, and hit 'Enter'.
“Let me try,” Luis said, putting away his PDA, then grabbing the hat, and putting it on.
