"Sir, you cannot put that here," a stern middle-aged nun announced, upon seeing Ted placing a slot machine in the corner of the entryway of the monastery.
"I'm sorry, Sister, but I have to. My orders are to deliver this machine to this address," Ted said.
"Orders? By whose authority?"
"I can't give you his name, but his orders are clear. I can't disobey." Sure, he postponed delivering the machine, but he knew that he'd eventually have to deliver it, no matter how much he didn't want to. "Listen, I'm really sorry about this. Do what you want with it."
The nun grunted as Ted left the building, then she looked at the machine with a look of contempt. This was a place of God, not some filthy casino. She approached it, intending on getting rid of it.
