Kevin was a college undergrad, majoring in health science. He was 20 years old, going into his junior year. He was your average, good-looking guy, but he wanted to do something different this summer.
There was a raffle by someone on campus for four cruise tickets going to two winners. Not caring in particular if he actually won or not, he entered his name into the raffle and invited his friend Carter to enter as well. By some unimaginable chance, it turned out both Kevin and Carter won the tickets for the cruise. How about that for something different?
Kevin invited Jacob, his senior friend who was on the football team, while Carter invited Skylar, a classmate from one of his biochemistry classes. Neither guys could really refuse, since they had no excuses for the trip.
Now when Kevin saw some mysterious lady zap her stick on some unsuspecting woman and saw her flinch a bit, he didn’t think much about it. This was especially when he passed by the same unsuspecting woman later that day and saw she was just fine with nothing more than a small cold, as she brushed past him toward the bathroom.
What Kevin didn’t realize, while he walked toward his room, is that he just caught the Hulk virus.
Coming back to the room bored, and not really in the mood to go out, he collapsed on one of the beds and pulled out his phone to play some games--specifically zombie games.
As he played, Kevin sneezed a few times, once in his hand on accident. He also realized the game got him more excited than usual for some reason. In fact, he immersed himself in the game and didn’t even notice when Carter came in. When the door closed, Kevin was startled. That, combined with the games, was enough to raise his adrenaline level.
“Geez, you scared me,” Kevin said.
“Sorry man,” Carter replied as he walked toward him.
Kevin sighed, but that wasn’t enough to stop his suddenly rapidly beating heart. He looked down at his hands and realized he unconsciously balled them up into fists and that they were shaking. His vision flashed green and he felt like he was gonna get sick.
He got up and headed toward the bathroom. “Excuse me,” he muttered as he pushed Carter aside with his infected hand. He stepped into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.
Almost if on cue, Jacob and Skylar came into the guest room. They heard the bathroom door lock. Skylar looked at Carter and asked, “What happened to Kevin?”
Carter, unaware that he had just caught the Hulk virus, simply shrugged and said, “I don’t know.” Something curious—Carter would swear Kevin’s eyes were green for just a moment.
Inside the bathroom, Kevin started to shake. He looked into the mirror and was shocked to find his once hazel eyes were now a bright green. Kevin’s skin started to get attain a slight emerald tint and he felt his muscles start to grow. Inside, his adrenaline levels continued to rise, with his testosterone levels rising a little bit as well.
“What’s… grrr…. Happening to me?”
