The Addventure DeLorean concept was created by Cross C as a device for jumping between Addventure threads. It was proposed in episode 941770 with further explanations on the comments page.
Several months later the author dkc718 picked up on the idea and decided to run with it. His explanation can be found in this Plume thread.
Each episode can be branched off further, and when that happens I'll try to note it here.
