"I'm here to bring you home. Follow me." Jack calmly announced.
"Home? Like... in Montana?" Jane was a little uncomfortable "And will you give me back my things first?"
"Just follow me, I'm following orders, that's all."
Jack handcuffed Jane after she finished her second burger, but she didn't protest. She was glad to be out of there. And followed him to a patrol car. She sat at the back of it, behind the wire separating her from the driver, and this Jack cop went behind the wheel, a bag full of what looked like her things next to him. Good. He was going to free her, give her the dictaphone back, and she'd just get rid of this moron before turning back to normal.
As they drove through the city, Jane noticed a few things were weird : first, the shrink never came back to the cell. Second, everyone allowed them to leave without her having to sign any paper. It was like everything was already done and over. Maybe the police just thought it was too weird for them and decided to drive her home and forget? Speaking of it... they weren't going to Montana according to where they were going. No... they were going back to his house. Mr Jackson's house. Did they buy the story? She was quite... surprised. But she didn't say a word. It looked like she was out of this mess, so she wasn't going to point it out.
"Here." the cop eventually said as they stopped in front of Mr Jackson's house. He helped her out of the car, took off her handcuffs, and handed her the keys of the house.
"Show me it's your house." he simply ordered.
Jane didn't argue. If it was what she needed to get free, fine. She took the keys and opened the door, starting to explain : "Here's the patio, there the living room, over there is the kitchen and..."
To her surprise, the cop went to the living room and crashed into the couch.
"Eeer... what are you doing?" she frowned "And you said... you were going to give me back my things so..."
"I guess you're indeed in a hurry to have this again." Jack grinned.
And took the dictaphone out of the bag of evidences. Jane froze .
"Don't you, Mr Jackson?" the cop smiled...
