Ranma let out a relaxed sigh. He closed his eyes and let himself sink into the lukewarm bath water.
There was a plopping sound and he felt something furry land on his immersed leg. This furry object transformed as the water embraced it. The creature that was a cat morphed into a girl.
“Nihao Ranma,” came the sing song voice of an enthusiastic Chinese girl.
“Shampoo, what are you doing here? You shouldn’t be here.”
Ranma rushed into a fetal position, protecting and concealing his manly bits. Shampoo made no such attempt to conceal her own bouncing bossom.
He idly fingered the charm around his neck. Earlier that day he came upon an old woman who had sprained her ankle, and carried her home piggyback. The woman was grateful, she gave him the charm, promising it would protect him from many of the various troubles everyone knew he had to live with. ‘So much for protection,’ he thought.
“Shampoo come wash Ranma’s back. Is okay yes.”
“Yes… I mean no! You can’t just… Do you know what Akane would do if she found us like this.”
Akane just happened to be passing the furrow door. She heard Shampoo’s giggle followed by a sound Ranma made that she wasn’t particularly good an interpreting.
Anger welled up in the youngest Tendo. Then something else happened.
On the other side of the door, Ranma and Shampoo both took a closer look at the charm, which was now glowing.
