Why would a tiny no reputation family Dojo have students?
At no point does the Tendo Dojo want students during the series.
Why would Akane be teaching?
1) She is female, and sexism is a real issue
2) She is very much a beginner while Soun is still very young and capable.
If this was about something like cooking it would make more sense, but the conversation just comes out of nowhere with no context leaving Ranma extremely OOC.

Actually she did have a student - 1st episode (anime & the live-action). She drove him off - because she did not show self-restraint.
Soun refuses to take students. So that leaves only Akane to keep up the dojo. He prefers to play chess than actually do what a Master of a Dojo should be doing, taking in students in order to support the dojo, without students Nabiki seems the only person able to support their finances (repairs, food, etc).
The only thing Nabiki 'supports' is herself. Soun, though he does nothing with his own dojo, seems to get cushy jobs for the city and local shops. The sort he only has to put in a token effort for to get paid.
Akane does not drive any student away, because there is no student. You’re making shit up, just like the lie that Nabiki has anything to do with supportig the family.
Did not the poster before mention the LIVE_ACTION? The Live-Action, last I checked is CANON. There was a student that was chased off by Akane.
It said anime *and* live action. No student in the anime. And saying the movie is canon is the same as saying The Dark Knight is canon when discussing Batman: The Animated Series. It’s just not relevant.
