Lum looked down the mostly empty street silently as she floated beside Ataru, trying to understand why she was feeling so peculiar. Why she was somehow feeling a surging thrill every time she saw her darling trying to cheat on her with the hot earth girls they kept passing. Thinking back she began to consider all the many previous times she'd watched Ataru hitting on earth girls while ignoring her.
She thought of the time Shutaro's childhood rival had stolen her preferred outfit and she and Ataru had chased his legion of curvy hot bodyguards, all dressed in copies of her real outfit. As she recalled the moments of the fight where Ataru was able to unleash his full perverted skills on her behalf, for the sake of recovering what was hers . . . her cheeks reddened as she considered moment after moment. 'That was so hot. . .'
Blinking she gave her head a little shake. 'Ok, maybe there's always been a little thrill, but just because I've got a little something that's throwing off my lightning generation, why am I noticing it more now?'
"Shinobu-Chan!" Ataru called out enthusiastically as he sprinted into the fist of his former girlfriend. Lum blinked as she took note of Ataru's quick glance in her direction as he rose to his feet again.
'Wait, it has felt like Ataru's been paying much closer attention to me all morning . . . maybe I'm just feeling a little more a part of it. That could be why I'm not overlooking how hot this can be . . .'
"Lum-San" came a distracting call from a side street. Glancing in that direction, Lum instantly reaffirmed that the voice was that of Chibi, who looked to have accelerated into a light jog at the sight of her.
"Hi!" she called with her usual cheery wave in response.
"You're looking especially stunning this morning," Chibi declared with a nervous stammer in his voice.
"So nice of you to say so," Lum responded in a friendly tone, her attention split between him and Ataru who had just hopped up to another hot girl who was walking down the street where Chibi had come.
Wait, the girl just pushed Ataru back, he was stumbling backward right toward . . . Ataru's back collided with Chibi's back, Chibi was pitching forward, his face was getting closer, closer . . .
Lum concentrated her levitation to keep from landing on the ground. Looking downward, her eye twitched and her horns sparked at the sight of Chibi's face buried between her breasts, his hands resting on her side.
Then there was another surge of pain in her head, and by the time it had receded Chibi had separated himself from her and was scratching the back of his head as he stammered about how sorry he was.
"No harm done," she declared with a smile. "Just warn me before you do it again," she added. As Chibi stared at her, his mouth gaping open, she also noticed Ataru's head snap round, his full attention focusing on her. She could feel the shivers of pleasure shooting down her spine as she contemplated his attention.
Ataru sat in his seat, trying to hide a huge scowl, as well as keep from looking toward Lum. The day had started off perfectly, with Lum getting less and less mad about him chasing all the other hot girls out there.
Then Chibi had stumbled into the picture and suddenly Lum was joking with him and the other three about how she might want her own black book with their names in it, and was asking about what sort of date they'd take her on if she ever did say yes, and a few questions about earth games like spin the bottle and strip poker which she was sounding way too interested in for his taste.
Then close to school there had been a conversation about accidental touching which had culminated with Megane groping her ass. Lum pushed away and protested, but her protests sounded rather halfhearted to his ears.
That was when he'd stepped in, calling her over to discuss their homework, and a few upcoming school topics. She'd been enthusiastic when he'd called her over, but she clearly wanted him to voice some sort of declaration of jealousy, and every second he avoided making that preposterous claim she got more and more annoyed.
Ironically Mendo's arrival was not as bad as he'd feared. Yes he hit on Lum to Ataru's annoyance, and yes Lum was flirting back far more that Ataru could stomach, but . . . every time Lum started any more hentai topic, Mendo immediately changed the topic into something that was thinly veiled boasting about himself and his family with no trace of hentai undercurrent. Not even his boasts about overseeing the erection of a huge tower had any feel of being euphemistic. Not to Mendo at least.
Still now Ataru was sitting in class, trying not to show any sign of how he felt, not to look toward Lum, and not to look toward his schoolbag where the scroll with the spell rested. The day before he'd skimmed the spell description, and stopped reading completely after reading how to cast the spell itself. Now, he was desperately wondering what the rest of the scroll said about the duration of the spell, and whether or not there was any way to counter or modify it.
