Was he truly making her happy? Sure, she was the traditional type, but surely there had to be more to life than just fucking his beautiful wife who seemed content to play homemaker and little else. It was like she was some kind of sex goddess, but that meant she embodied sex and femininity and little else. Despite her seeming enthusiasm, their marriage seemed so... shallow. But was the problem with him, and not her? Was there more he could do for her? Was this truly the type of marriage that could last through the years, particularly with this many children?

The couple pondered their own problems, clueless to the thoughts of the other. Eventually though, things moved on.

Paul took Sammi out to lunch after calling over “auntie” Carlotta to watch their youngest for the afternoon so the couple could have some time alone. The only sorta happy couple had lunch at a nice restaurant because Paul was determined to have someone cook for Sammi for once and the idea of him cooking for her was usually too scandalous for the ditzy blonde to bear. After stopping his overeager wife on four separate attempts from slipping under the table and sucking him off in public, Paul finally gave in to Sammi’s enthusiasm for her “wifely duties” and fucked her in the backseat of their minivan when they went back to the parking garage they’d left it in.

All in all, it was a typical day off for the two of them. But Paul still couldn’t help but feel like something was wrong. Was this really all there was to their marriage? They had basically nothing in common and even after 5 years of marriage, he wasn’t sure he really knew anything about Sammi. She never talked about her childhood or her parents or what she did for work before they’d met for that Tinder date 5 years ago.

He’d assumed on some level that she came from a bad family life, which was why she was so desperate to play 1950s homemaker, but he’d never gotten a straight answer from her. He knew the very idea of her having a job was laughable and he was pretty sure she helped her old roommate Carlotta make rent by flirting with their landlord, since Sammi was adamant about never wanting to work. But what she was before they met didn’t matter as much as who she was now. At least, that’s what he liked to tell himself.

Paul’s stress and worry about their relationship continued over the long weekend as Sammi continued to wait on him hand and foot like she always did when he was home, despite all his attempts to help in some way.

By the time Monday rolled around and it was time to go back into the office, Paul was exhausted. Sammi had been as insistent as ever on Sunday night and kept her husband up until the wee hours, begging him to somehow make her “more preggers” despite entering the early stages of her third trimester.

Exhausted by both the Monday Blues and the “I fucked my bimbo wife until 4am and now I’m paying for it”-Blues, Paul entered his favorite coffee shop for a morning pick me up.

“You look like a man with a lot on his mind,” a woman’s strangely accented voice caught his attention.

Looking up from his fresh cup of espresso, Paul was greeted by a thin, smirking woman with long dark hair standing next to him at the pickup counter.

“As much as anyone I guess,” Paul said, trying not to engage. She wasn’t nearly as ethereally gorgeous as Sammi, but she was a beautiful woman and he was still a married man. It wouldn’t be appropriate to give anyone anything to speculate about.

“That’s impressive, all things considered,” the woman smirked knowingly. “You’d think a man married to a woman as happy as Sammi would be happy too.”

“Oh, you know Sammi?” Paul asked, internally relieved. She must’ve been one of the other moms from their daughters’ pre-school.

“Yes. I helped her out a few years ago,” the woman’s smile widened just a bit too wide. “Helped make her wish for happiness come true and then she met you. You’re welcome,” she said with a smug gleam in her eye.

“Oh, were you the one who got her to set up that dating profile? I thought that was Carlotta,” Paul said, chuckling nervously. “I don’t think I got your name.”

“It’s Circe,” the eerie brunette said. “Yes, like the lady from Game of Thrones.”

“I was thinking about the lady from the Odyssey, but that works too,” Paul’s smile relaxed a bit.

“So bright but so dumb,” Circe chuckled to herself. “You really are perfect for Sammi aren’t you?”

At her words, Paul’s anxiety came bubbling back up. “I’m not so sure sometimes,” he said, drooping his shoulders sadly.

“Well maybe I can help,” Circe grinned, with a hungry look in her eye. “Anything you wish could be different?”

  1. Paul says “I wish I understood my wife better.”
  2. *Paul says “I wish Sammi and I had more in common.”
  3. Paul says “I wish I made Sammi happy.”
  4. Paul says “I wish I knew more about Sammi’s past.”
  5. Paul actually wishes for something that has nothing to do with him and Sammi.
  6. Something else.
