The 7-Person Splitter/Seeder is a device that can let a person split into seven aspects of themselves. If they don't have seven aspects, you can add the rest!
The 7-Person Splitter/Seeder is a touchscreen device. When aimed at a person, the user can press a button to activate it. When first used on a person, up to seven aspects will appear (one of which is labeled the "core" aspect) along with two settings. The first setting is Reality. If Reality is set to ON, everyone will think that any inserted aspects were always part of the target. The second setting is Fragility. If Fragility is set to ON, only the "core" aspect will maintain their normal physical robustness; any other aspects that split off will still require their normal physical needs but disappear in a pop and rejoin the "core" aspect if sufficiently damaged, for broad definitions of "sufficiently." If Fragility is set to OFF, any aspects that split off will be as robust - though vulnerable - as the original, aspect variations aside. Once Settings are set for a person, they cannot be changed unless all (or seven, whichever is greater) aspects are currently merged into one. Which aspect is the "core" aspect cannot be changed. Once someone is targeted, they remain on the screen until the 7-Person Splitter/Seeder is aimed at a new person and targeted.
A person targeted by the 7-Person Splitter/Seeder can have up to seven aspects as listed on it, each described in three words or less. These aspects cannot be emotional, but instead are based on things like Status, Profession, Relationship, Personality, etc., and are not necessarily a comprehensive list. If a person targeted by the 7-Person Splitter/Seeder has fewer than seven aspects listed, the user can type new aspects in, again with three words or less. These aspects will have any skills and/or temperaments required to fulfill these aspects, and may be physically transformed if necessary to fulfill the aspect, although they will always be identifiable as the original. Seven aspects is the maximum. If an aspect splits off from the "core" aspect, this will "make room" for new aspects, but an aspect cannot rejoin a body that already has seven aspects. The 7-Person Splitter/Seeder does not function on a split-off aspect or joining thereof that doesn't contain the "core" aspect.
Once targeted, the target will believe that they could always split off aspects of themselves. An aspect can split off and rejoin aspects from the same person at will. The more a situation calls for them, the more likely they will split off, and exceptions to this rule are much like a person trying to convince themselves. If an aspect that is physically transformed joins another aspect that isn't, the "normal" physical form wins out; if all joined aspects are physically transformed, only the form of the aspect being joined takes precedence. If a person fulfills their physical needs, those needs are considered fulfilled for any and all aspects that split off (e.g. If two aspects split from a person who just ate, both are still equally and fully sated). If a person has multiple aspects, those aspects all contribute to the person's skills and mindset, but not necessarily equally, and not as strongly as if an aspect was "by itself." Conversely, an aspect with specialized skills (and/or skills used to describe the aspect) often takes those skills with them when they split, leaving the original bereft.
